SPRING - BRUSHES, DOTS, AND DOODLES: A Painting Adventure (Ages 7–10)

Mondays, April 6–June 8, no class on April 13 (public school break) and May 25 (Memorial Day), 8 weeks | 4:30–6:00 PM

Grab your brushes and let the creativity flow! In this fun-filled 8 week painting adventure, young artists will explore exciting techniques like pointillism, texture-building, and expressive brushwork. Along the way, they’ll discover different painting styles and experiment with color, form, and imagination. Each class is hands-on and designed to build confidence while encouraging creative exploration. No experience needed—just curiosity, creativity, and a love of color! Family and friends are invited to join us for the final class where we’ll celebrate the amazing artistic creations of our young artists and enjoy some light refreshments!

SPRING - COMIC CREATORS STUDIO: Advanced Cartooning & Comics (Ages 9–13)

Wednesdays, April 8–June 3, no class on April 15 (public school break), 8 weeks | 4:00–6:00 PM

Calling all cartoonists! This 8 week class is all about finding your voice in the comic world. Students will level up their skills by creating original characters, developing stories, and learning how to show big emotions, action, and personality through expressive cartooning. We’ll dive into comic panels, pacing, dialogue, tracing techniques, and visual storytelling—all while having tons of fun bringing ideas to life on the page. The session culminates in a celebratory final class where family and friends are invited to view the students’ comics, hear about their creative process, and enjoy light refreshments.

ANIMAL KINGDOM:   Animals are fun and exciting to create when you begin with big, simple shapes and build in the details—like floppy ears, fluffy fur, and unique patterns. In this camp, young artists will bring their favorite animals to life through colorful paintings and 3D clay sculptures. Campers are encouraged to bring a beloved stuffed animal or photos of a favorite pet for inspiration as they create one‑of‑a‑kind animal masterpieces! 🐾🎨

FASHION STUDIO:   Step into the world of color, creativity, and self‑expression! Campers will create their own jewelry, design bold tie‑dye T‑shirts, experiment with weaving techniques, craft imaginative masks, and explore other fashion‑inspired projects. Along the way, artists will learn about patterns, textures, and color combinations while developing their own unique style. ✂️🎨💎

WORLD OF CARTOONING:   Get ready to draw, laugh, and create! Campers will design their own cartoon characters, learn about the history of cartooning, and create awesome comic strips. From silly sidekicks to daring heroes, imaginations will soar as students bring their stories to life—one doodle at a time! ✨📚✏️

SILLY SCULPTURES:   Ready to build in 3D? Campers will use clay, recycled materials, wire, and more to design imaginative sculptures big and small. From playful animals and abstract creations to decorative pieces and mini models, artists will learn how to shape, balance, and add texture to their work. This hands‑on camp encourages creativity, problem‑solving, and thinking outside the box! 🎨👐

MUDDY MAKERS:   Squish, roll, pinch, and create! In this hands-on clay camp, students will explore fun hand‑building techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab building. Campers will create imaginative projects including silly creatures, animal sculptures, and more. Come get messy, make new friends, and bring your ideas to life at the Glastonbury Arts Center! 🎨👐

SAND, SUN, & SEASHELLS: Dive into beach‑inspired creativity! Campers will explore the magic of the ocean through drawing, crafting, and sculpture while creating fun, hands‑on projects inspired by sand, sun, and seashells. With each day filled with imaginative art activities and coastal vibes, this camp is the perfect blend of creativity and summer fun. Campers are invited to bring a special collection of seashells (or use ours!) to create a keepsake picture frame inspired by their favorite summer memories. 🌊🐚🎨

Cassidy Molino provides instruction for our children and teen classes and summer camps. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona and currently teaches at Haddam Killingworth Middle School. Having grown up working at Teachart2Me, she has been surrounded by art her entire life. Previously she has taught private lessons and school enrichment classes in the Glastonbury Public School system. Past clients also include Smith College, Hartford Yard Goats, Hartford Public Schools, and the Soleil Holistic Health Services in Hamden, CT. “I specialize in creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students can explore different mediums and techniques, from basic foundational skills to more advanced practices with the goal of fostering a love of creativity in every student.”

REGISTRATION: Register early to avoid disappointment. Classes and workshops won't run if the minimum number of students haven't registered one week before the start date. Classes and workshops are filled in the order received. Registrations will not be processed without payment. When you register, consider yourself confirmed: You will hear from us only if the schedule changes or the class is cancelled.

ATTENDANCE:  There are no make-ups, refunds, or pro-rating of class/workshop fees. Students who cannot attend a class or workshop cannot substitute another person in their place. 

CANCELLATION POLICY: In the event a course or workshop is cancelled by Glastonbury Arts (e.g. insufficient enrollments, teacher illness, severe weather, etc.), all fees will be refunded to students. If a registered student withdraws from a class or workshop, the student must notify Glastonbury Arts via email two full weeks prior to the start of the class or workshop in which case we will refund the student’s registration fee less a $35 administrative charge. No refunds will be made for voluntary withdrawals less than two full weeks before the start of a class or workshop.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:  In the event that Glastonbury Public Schools are closed or delayed, Glastonbury Arts will be closed. Classes or workshops not held due to bad weather will be rescheduled based on teacher availability. In the event that a class or workshop cannot be rescheduled, please refer to our cancellation policy. 

PHOTO WAIVER: Glastonbury Arts occasionally documents classes using photography for publicity purposes. Registration in a Glastonbury Arts class or workshop assumes permission by adult class participants to use such images for publicity unless the photographer is informed otherwise at the time the photographs are taken. Parents of students in classes for teens or children are asked to indicate their permission to photograph their children on the class registration form.
