Diane Cadrain’s fiber art work is inspired by the natural world, which she interprets with fabric and thread, quilting, embroidery, beading, felting, and more recently, an exploration of neurographics, a harmonious fusion of art, psychology, and meditation with roots in Eastern and Western spiritual traditions. LET'S LEARN IRISH UNCIAL HAND, Mondays, June16 - July 14, no class on June 30, 2:00 - 4:00 pm (4 weeks)
Let’s learn Calligraphy! This round, Irish lettering style, Uncial, is a great way to introduce yourself to broad edge nib calligraphy. Uncial calligraphy has roots in Ireland: remember the Book of Kells? Students will write with professional quality cartridge pens. We will use two different-sized pens and explore traditional presentations of these round letters and create modern, colorful, contemporary projects in each class.

PAINTING WATER IN PASTEL, Tuesday & Wednesday, July 15 & 16, 9:30 am - 4:00 pm both days
This comprehensive workshop will cover the techniques for capturing the translucency, reflections, and movement of water. Day 1 will focus on painting still water and its reflections and on Day 2, the concentration will shift to moving water. Students should bring a variety of their own photo references, not a calendar or internet photo. Please have the photo references printed in color and grey scale. Karen will be happy to share her references.
